Girikarnika’s true journey began as the “VISHWAS BEEJ” (Seed of Faith). Leading activist Shri Jagdish Shinde along with friends and nature lovers started the movement “Tree planting and conservation”.
About 15,000 trees were planted through this operation. These are mainly Sarola Kasar, Rawalgaon, Ranjani, Pimpala, Gotumbe Akhada, Ghospuri, Sonewadi, Chincholi. Through the Vishwas Beej Parivar, fruit trees were planted on both sides of the road, in the temple premises, on the school side, in the cemetery as well as in the backyards of houses in some villages.
The campaign focuses on indigenous tree planting, which includes Mahogany, Palas, Karanj, Neem, Vada, Pimpal, Shisav, Kanchan, Mango, Jambul, Amla, Sita Ashok, Chinch. Seeing the overwhelming love and response of the people, the movement was not limited to the village level but was inspired to be implemented globally and the Girikarnika Global Foundation was established in January 2022.
